Four McCort grads commit to college

JOHNSTOWN — One made the Pennsylvania High School Baseball Coaches Association preseason all-state team. One could make an argument he was overlooked when it came to selections for the state’s all-state football team. Another could say the same about his soccer season. A fourth will attempt the difficult task of participating in two sports at the collegiate level.
Together Luke Williams, Jordan Spangler, Sean Ingram and Taryn Kramer are four members of the 2013 Bishop McCort High School graduating class continuing their athletic careers at the next level.

Changes made as District 6 swimming goes out on its own

JOHNSTOWN — The hardest work is behind them and it’s now time to reap the benefits of all of that labor as hundreds of swimmers gather today and Saturday at the Penn State Natatorium for the District 6-AA meet.
On the line for the swimmers this weekend is the opportunity to represent their schools at the upcoming PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships set for March 13 and 14 at the Kinney Natatorium at Bucknell University.
