Red Devils capture D6 boys golf crown

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Central Cambria’s Jeremy Eckenrode and Dom Stevens placed first and second, respectively, and the Red Devils captured their third consecutive PIAA‚ÄąDistrict 6 Class AA Boys Golf Championship on Wednesday at Scotch Valley Country Club.
Eckenrode, a sophomore, won with a two-round total of 153 (78-75), and Stevens was three strokes back (156). Central Cambria’s team score of 645 was 27 strokes better than runner-up Richland. Penn Cambria was third at 678, and Bishop McCort was fourth at 705.

Kirsch, Moran to golf for IUP

Central Cambria’s Max Kirsch and Richland’s Brady Moran basically dominated the area golf scene the past two years.
Along the way, the competitive duo became good friends and, starting next fall, they’ll be teammates as each recently signed a National Letter of Intent to golf at Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

EBENSBURG — Central Cambria’s Max Kirsch and Richland’s Brady Moran has been two of the area’s top golfers in each of the past two seasons.
So, it was fitting that a playoff between the two was needed to decide the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference champion Thursday at Ebensburg Country Club.
