Softball
Westmont Hilltop 10, Greater Johnstown 7: Alyssa Miller had three hits, including a double, a homer and three runs; Taylor Hoover had three hits with a three-run homer and three runs; and Caitlyn Miller went 4-for-4 with two doubles as visiting Westmont Hilltop edged Greater Johnstown.
Taylor Kaseler went 2-for-5 with a double for 2-0 Westmont Hilltop.
Greater Johnstown’s Tara Bicko went 4-for-4 with three doubles and three runs scored. Her run-scoring double in the sixth was the 100th career hit for the senior shortstop.
Lexi Lindrose had two hits and drove in a pair, and Madison McKee drove in two runs. Mariah Eisenhuth had two hits.
Bishop McCort 12, Richland 9: Bishop McCort’s Jenna Gaunt had two hits and scored two runs, and Kayla Orr had two hits and scored a run as the Crushers beat host Richland.
Kirstyn Vitovich doubled and scored a run.
Richland’s Sami Felton went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs. Sam Hauser went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs.
Penn Cambria 8, Cambria Heights 2: In Patton, Penn Cambria’s Nicole Weakland  had a double and drove in a pair of runs as the Panthers defeated host Cambria Heights.
Ashton Hite doubled for Penn Cambria. Kelly Yusko and MacKenzie McIntosh each went 3-for-4.
McIntosh drove in three runs, and Yusko, one.
Cambria Heights’ Julia Pritchard and Hanna Smithmyer each hit solo homers.
Bedford 17, Somerset 7: In Bedford, Sarah Dudek had three hits and scored four runs, Paige Hillegass had two hits, including a triple and four RBI, and Ashley Rose drove in three runs as Bedford beat visiting Somerset in five innings.
Somerset’s Hope Brock had two hits, including a triple and two RBI. Emily Costea doubled and drove in two runs for the Golden Eagles.
Bishop Carroll 7, Forest Hills 6: In Sidman, Sara Gomish had a three-run homer and Courtney Link had two hits as Bishop Carroll edged host Forest Hills in a Laurel Highlands clash.
Olivia Gregorich had two home runs and drove in three runs for Forest Hills.
Shade 12, Turkeyfoot Valley 0: In Cairnbrook, Destiny Pruss singled, doubled and tripled while Emma Spinelli hit a home run and a single to lead the Panthers.
Kailey Karl and and Lexi Rapsky each tripled and singled for Shade, and Mikayla Ott tripled.
Katie Ryans, Kaitlyn McClintock, Danielle Kemp and Larissa Meyers singled for the Rams.
Ferndale 12, Blacklick Valley 1: In Nanty Glo, Lauren Olshewsky was 2-for-4 including a home run, and Taylor Yuhas went 2-for-2 with a double as Ferndale beat host Blacklick.
Lindsay Olshewsky had two hits, including a double. Blacklick Valley’s Bailee Rhoads went 2-for-2.
Portage 7, Conemaugh Township 6: In Portage, the Mustangs scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning with Becca Gorba beating out a hit to short to knock in the winning run.
Gorba went 3-for-4 with a double while teammate Savannah Layo went 3-for-4 and scored twice.
Gino Gallo was 2-for-3 with a double for the Mustangs.
Erica  Blank and Kayla Luprek each went 3-for-4 for Conemaugh Township. Shannon Golias had two hits, including a double.
Kayla Fulta and McKenna Daugherty each had two hits.

Baseball
Bishop McCort 5, Richland 1: Brad Coleman pitched a complete game, throwing 74 pitches with three strikeouts and no walks as Bishop McCort opened with a victory over Richland at Point Stadium.
Nathan Neiderhiser went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Alex Sobecky drove in a pair. Cameron Rock had two hits.
Richland’s Jack Shirk went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run. Tyler Mikesic drove in a run.
Ferndale 13, Blacklick Valley 2: In Nanty Glo, winning pitcher Taylor Kinsey went 4-for-4 and scored three runs while teammate Isaiah Sajatovich reached base four times in five appearances and scored three times to lead the Yellow Jackets.
Trey McGough scored twice in a 2-for-3 performance, and Ferndale teammates Cody Berkebile and Luc Kulback each went 2-for-2 with a run scored.
Cory Villa and batterymate Luke Galko each went 2-for-3 for the Vikings. Galko drove in a run.
Derek Cesarz scored both Blacklick Valley runs.
Penn Cambria 6, Cambria Heights 2: In Cresson, Mark Mardula scored two runs and stole three bases to lead the Panthers.
Andrew George doubled, scored and had two RBI. Garrett Martynuska also drove in two runs.
Richard Legros had two hits, including a double, for the Highlanders while Josh Serafin went 2-for-2.
Forest Hills 7, Bishop Carroll 1: In Ebensburg, Alex Murphy went the distance, striking out seven and walking two for the win.
Teammate Zack Shearman was 3-for-4.
Blaine Harteis had two hits for the Rangers while Tanner Polinski drove in two runs.
Dave Woo led the Huskies with one RBI in a 1-for-3 effort.
Portage 8, Conemaugh Township 4: Brad Rosemas doubled twice and drove in two runs to lead the Mustangs.
C.W. Miller was 3-for-4 with three singles and a run scored while Brandon Vocco hit a sacrifice fly in the first inning and a base-clearing double in the fifth.
Bailey Kerch doubled, had two hits and scored twice.
Mick Sanders had a two-run single for the Indians.
Somerset 21, Bedford 2: In Bedford, Michael VanLenten had two hits and a sacrifice fly to drive in five runs in leading the Golden Eagles.
Ross DiRenzo and Seth Lowes had two hits each for Somerset, which benefitted from 20 walks issued by Bisons pitching.
Westmont Hilltop 8, Greater Johnstown 6: The Hilltoppers’ five-run outburst in the third pushed them ahead for good in a win over the visiting Trojans.
T.J. Smith and Kohl Henry, who earned the win in relief, each had two hits for Westmont Hilltop.
Greater Johnstown’s Jeremy Updyke was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Shawn McLean was 2-for-4 in defeat.
Shade 10, Turkeyfoot Valley 2: In Cairnbrook, Jeremy Pyles had three hits and four stolen bases, and B.J. Spangler had two hits and four stolen bases as host Shade beat Turkeyfoot Valley.
Chase Kiser scored three runs, and Scott Meck had a hit and a run. Six Shade pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts.
Turkeyfoot Valley freshman Adam Kemp had 12 strikeouts in a complete-game loss.
Blairsville 12, Ligonier Valley 10: In Ligonier, Jordan Jones had two hits and Garrett Custer drove in two runs for the Rams in a nine-inning loss to Blairsville.
Corey Ramsden had two hits for the Bobcats.
Meyersdale 15, Salisbury-Elk Lick 2: In Meyersdale, Kyle Deakins had three hits, Lance Leydig had two hits – including a three-run double, Ryan Brown had two hits, including a double and Riley Christner had an RBI triple to lead the Red Raiders in a five-inning victory over neighboring Salisbury-Elk Lick.
Kyle Pattison had two hits for the Elks.
